Women’s Healthcare with a Functional Approach: Building The Colby Women’s Health Collective


Holistic healthcare and functional medicine have profoundly influenced my own life, making the opportunity to create the brand for The Colby Women’s Health Collective deeply personal. With a background in Exercise Science and Health—a blend of kinesiology and health promotion—I was able to draw on both my education and experiences to help build a brand that offers women a space to feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported.


 

The Vision: A Space for Care and Connection


This project aimed to create more than just a brand—it was to design a space where women could find empathetic, empowering care that seeks to resolve the root cause of illness. The Colby Women’s Health Collective needed to reflect its core values of trust, professionalism, and warmth while maintaining an approachable and supportive image. This vision shaped every aspect of the branding process, ensuring the final product aligned with the practice’s mission to serve women at every stage of their health journey.


 

Crafting a Thoughtful Brand Identity


The visual identity for The Colby Women’s Health Collective was carefully designed to evoke trust and compassion. Soft, natural tones paired with clean typography created a professional yet inviting aesthetic. Every element was chosen to communicate warmth and accessibility, from the color palette that inspired calm to the typography that balanced clarity with approachability. These visual elements were intentionally designed to make women feel welcomed and cared for before they ever walked through the doors.


 

Messaging That Resonates


The tone and messaging were equally critical to the project’s success. Every piece of copy was crafted to speak directly to the women this practice serves, emphasizing individualized care and holistic health. The tone needed to reflect authenticity and compassion, showcasing the founder’s commitment to treating each patient as a person, not just a case. It wasn’t just about promoting services; it was about communicating a philosophy of care that puts women’s needs and well-being first.


 

Designing the Digital Experience


The website became an integral part of delivering the practice’s mission. Designed to be simple and intuitive, it serves as an extension of The Colby Women’s Health Collective, welcoming patients and providing them with resources to support their health journeys. From detailed service pages to educational materials, every aspect of the website was built with the patient experience in mind, ensuring it felt as thoughtful and supportive as the care they would receive.


 

A Collaboration Built on Passion and Purpose


One of the most rewarding aspects of this project was collaborating with a founder whose passion for her work was unmistakable. Her dedication to creating a space where women feel empowered and cared for made it easy to pour my own passion into this brand. Together, we built something that goes beyond aesthetics—it’s a foundation for meaningful connections and transformative care.



 

Project Highlights


This project was originally completed in August 2016, marking the first iteration of the client’s online presence. However, as the market evolved and competition increased, the client recognized the need for a refreshed approach. In December 2024, she sought to redevelop the website and rebrand under a new business name to better align with her goals and stand out in her industry.


The redevelopment process involved a comprehensive overhaul of the site’s design, functionality, and messaging. The rebranding effort brought a modernized identity to life, capturing the essence of her business while positioning it to compete effectively in her existing market. This transformation not only reinforced her brand’s relevance but also ensured the website became a more powerful tool for connecting with her target audience and driving growth.
